35 Years and Still Going

Jeff and I celebrated 35 years of marriage on Sat. We picked the first day of spring to get married and then.....they changed it to the 20th, however it reverts back to the 21st in a few years. I don't know where the years went, but they went fast. We were married in Hot Springs, SD. This is a special place for us, one that we would like to retire to in 10 or 15 years. So Sat. night we drove up for supper and a drink, it was really nice. Brandi was the only one of our children that remembered, well Damion did too but I think it was from a friendly reminder from his sister. Thanks to Brandi for the blog!! We looked like babies and we were!! That was a prom picture for us, we started dating when we were just 15. I thought he had a nice butt and a cool car, definitely good reasons to base a marriage on. HA HA! Anyway.......I wish all of you that many and more wonderful years with your guys too.

Curls and Girls...Bruises and Boys

Oh the difference of boys and girls. Most of this weekend was girl time. Adrianne spent Friday and Sat. night with grandma and papa and Miss Emma stayed with her dad this weekend so she got to spend time at my house too. We played makeup, fixed our hair, got out the dolly stuff and watched Strawberry Shortcake over and over and over..............you get the idea. However Jaxon came over for a little while on Sat. night and Austin joined us after the wrestling tournament. Quiet time was over, out came the trucks, bikes and blocks. Emma ended up getting her curly little head slammed in the door and Adrianne had bloody knees by the time we were ready for bed. But we had so much fun and I love watching the cousins play. I watch Emma with the reserve nature just like her daddy, Adrianne has Jeremy's love of animals, Jaxon has Brandi's nurturing personality and Austin has his mother's social attributes. They just crack me up and I love spending time with them.

SO PROUD OF YOU AUSTIN WAYNE

THE PIN

THE WIN

Today I had my first really big day out of the house. First we went to the Crawford Jr. wrestling match. It was so exciting for us, Austin had his first pin and then he had his first 1st. place. And he did it with no tears, he just tucked in and wrestled. I was very proud of all of the Crawford kids, they did so well. I got to watch so many of our old day care kids.......when did they grow up so fast? Anyway they all did such a good job. I will try to get some photos posted of some of the matches. After the tournament I went to Melissa Siek's baby shower and then walked home from downtown. I wasn't done yet because Jeff and I went to the Frontier for Skip Chubb's going away party. I got to see a lot of people I hadn't seen in a long time. It was a great day!

I Took My Camera For A Walk Today...

I guess you could call this pure boredom but it was the most fun I have had in weeks. I took the camera with me and snapped a few pictures on my walk. The day is beautiful, the colors are awesome. I wore a coat and didn't need it. I think spring is one its way!!

5 Blocks - feels like a Milestone!

Today I made it 5 blocks.I walk 4 times a day and each time I try to go just a little further. Funny how that sounds, there was a time not so long ago, I walked 6 miles a day. However, I feel more satisfaction from those 5 blocks than from any of my other walks. The road to recovery is coming.....I can feel it.

I'm Back!!

Hi Everyone,
I am so excited that I can sit for more than a few seconds at the computer. I have missed reading the blogs and seeing how everyone is doing. My back is doing great. I won't lie, it was a tough surgery, and not for the faint at heart but.........at present I am pretty much pain free. WooHoo!! I am still off from work until March, and still can not bend, stoop or lift. In 2 1/2 months they will x-ray my back to see how the graft has done but my Dr. sounds positive and if I mind my p's and q's the graft should be good.
Things I have learned from my surgery.
1. My daughter is an amazing, compassionate, caring woman and she IS my hero!
2. That my friends are the "BEST" of Best Friends
3. That I need to be a better friend.
4. That I need to respect the word "major" when talking about surgery
5. That Jeff knows how to cook, well at least soup and sandwiches! And, can run the dishwasher & wash clothes!!
6. That while on pain meds, no one should tell me something and think I will remember it! (Sorry Jeff & Damion)
7. That being able to put on socks is a blessing.
8. To pray the Rosary! Thank you Damion and Daunee' - your faith is strong and catching.
9. That the Wilson's are very thoughtful
10. That God always has the answers for me.....I just need to listen
11. That yesterday I could walk 2 blocks and today it was 3!
