MIRACLE MADDIE

On Sat. Dave & Twila's little dog Maddie followed them to Kevin's wedding and was lost. Dave and Twi were so upset but didn't want to ruin the beautiful day for Kevin and Brenda. After making some calls they became a little hopeful, I guess a state worker had found Maddie just outside of town. The state worker then took her to Chadron (not sure why Chadron instead of Crawford), but they did, only to lose her again at Wal Mart. Dave and Twila were heart sick, they went to Chadron searching for their little dog. It was rainy and they began to lose faith that they would ever find her. Still they made flyer's, called the Friends of Pets; the police; dog pound and anyone they could think of to report their missing puppy. Well, it worked! Tonight they received a call that someone had seen the dog in Chadron on a certain street. The Vogl's rushed over and after walking the streets calling for her Maddie came running out. Isn't this just a wonderful story? I am so glad for the Vogl's, especially Dave as this dog just holds a special place in his heart. Welcome Home Maddie!

Thanks Keane brothers for inviting me down.

Cash invited his grammie down to Hemingford to hold him so I went for the day. I got to hold him the entire afternoon except when Jaxon and I went to play in the park. Here is our day, for larger photos check out Honeybee Heaven.

Grandmas - shared by Lisa!

1. Grandmas believe you really do have superhero powers.
2. Grandmas let you eat your dessert first.
3. Grandmas let you wear your Spiderman costume all day long for 3 days in a row.
4. Grandmas amaze you by reading your mind.
5. Grandmas let you circle all the toys you want for Christmas in her brand new Penney's catalog.
6. Grandmas play Candyland with you and when you're not looking she switches the cards so she has to go clear back to the gingerbread man and you get to go clear up to the ice cream cone.
7. Grandma eats the leftover crusts from your pizza.
8. Grandmas give you quarters for the big gumball machine and the mechanical horsies.
9. Grandmas say, "It's okay, everyone has accidents," when you spill your 16 oz. soda all over her carpet.
10. Grandmas spend $6.00 to take you to a movie that you fall asleep in.
11. Grandmas have flaps of soft velvety skin that dangles from her upper arms, and she lets you sit beside her and rub it.
12. Grandmas always leave the night light on.
13. Grandmas sing silly songs, make goofy faces, and do weird things to make you laugh.
14. Grandmas love you more than the sky is high and the ocean is deep.
15. Grandmas don't have laps, at least the jolly ones don't!
16. Grandmas take time to smell the roses, look at pictures in the clouds, and count the number of legs on a spider.
17. Grandmas believe you are the smartest, prettiest, fastest, cutest, child that has ever or will ever be born.
18. Grandmas can run pretty fast when you're headed for the street!
19. Grandmas make you teddy bear shaped pancakes, let you put M & M's in your spaghetti, and let you paint her fingernails with magic markers.
20. Grandmas have all the answers to questions like why a blue gemstone has more powers for superheros than green ones, why Waldo never changes his sweater, does Spiderman's mom make him take a bath, and how does God fly when he doesn't have wings.
21. Grandmas love dandelions, cool shaped rocks, pieces of shiny glass, and handprints.
22. Grandmas don't like runny noses, dirty faces, and uncombed hair.
23. Grandmas let you order your own meal at a restaurant instead of making you split something with your little sister.
24. Grandmas are younger than you think and older than they think.
25. Grandmas believe in God, teach you how to pray, and tell you that you have nothing to be afraid of. Grandmas talk to God like they are talking to you. Grandmas know there is a God.....because she has seen Him in the faces of her grandchildren.

I Heard The Locust!

Does anyone else have a sound that they love to hear, like a baby laughing or a Meadowlark in the summer or that first Robin whistle? Well, I love the sound of locust, the one that everyone dreads because the old wives tale is that you will have the first frost 6 weeks from that date. To me it means two things; summer is in full bloom and fall is just around the corner. Soon I will see the faint yellow tips on the trees and my heart will leap. I love fall, I love the late summer days also. The smells, the colors, the cool nights and warm days.
So I am off to Sheridan for two days to go to the ultra sound with Damion and Daunee'. We think it's a boy but who knows for sure............I am still holding out for a little girl. That means I have to get a whole lot of work done in a short time. Thanks to Jeremy for taking care of the dogs and to Becky for watering the flowers; to Jim for looking out for staffing problems and to my Staff for NO PROBLEMS!!

I nEeD SlEep

Ok, I just should never find a new toy to play with -especially when it comes to photos. I have over 8,000 stored on this computer alone along with many, many more in cd's and printed. I will admit to being a photoaholic (I know that isn't a word) but I am one none the less. Anyway look below for some fun I had when I should be in bed with my head sound asleep on my pillow.

TOO many pix!

Condolences To The Green Family

My prayers and thoughts go out to Steve, Karen, the girls and their families and all of the Green family. Lorraine was a one of a kind person and she will be sadly missed. May you find peace in the fact that she lived a good and wonderful life, was loved by many and that the world was a better place because she was in it.

Looking out my window & talking to God

Ever have one of those days where you question your very exsitence? Today is that day for me. I have many beliefs, I believe that God put me on this world for a purpose but I don't know yet what that was, will any of us know our purpose until we see the Big Guy? That for everything bad that happens so won't good come of it, sometimes we don't see it or really, really have to look for it. Why when something bad happens to a person it seems like more trouble follows? And what can I give of myself to help those people out? Sometimes food, a card etc. just aren't good enough. Today I pray that God will give me some guidance on this issue. That destiny is formed by our actions; that we become the people that we are by the mistakes that we make - and hopefully learn from them; that sometimes, well heck a lot of times, I just don't have the answer. That almost every decision I have ever made was the wrong one, that not doing something is worse than doing it and it not being successful. I am impatient, God has all the answers and I want them all now. I know, I know...........in time all things will be answered. But God, could you give me a push in the right direction?

Ode to Ed!

Almost every summer since the kids were little their uncle Ed or Uncle Smed as he was fondly called would visit us during the summer and the 4th of July Holiday. Last year Ed only made it to Utah, he didn't feel well and decided to go home. In Oct. we lost him to complications of surgery, cancer and several overall health problems. This year two of his daughters (Debbie & Mary), Mary's friend Jean and his grandson (Aaron) and Aaron's friend (Wendy) came to visit in memory of their father/grandfather. This is a tattoo that Ed's grandson proudly bears on his shoulder. We lost Ed way to soon but his family so loved this man that they honored him with this trip to carry on his tradition. SMEDDER - WE LOVE YOU!
