I HAD FUN!!
These pictures really don't do it justice, the flash took out the color and added a glare but you have an idea of what we did tonight, plus a little card. It was so much fun - Thank you Becky. Plus I got to meet a new Crafordite Brandy and visit with my neighbor Kim Marica and Becky. It was wonderful. Can't wait for next class.
Busy, busy, busy - when does it slow down?
What an on the go week we had. I ran to Brandi's Tuesday night after two days of working 10 hours each day trying to get things ready for a very busy weekend at the Fort. I stayed the night and watched the kids until they came home around noon (surgery was canceled). Since Brandi didn't need me I went back to work on Thursday (we had some 200 people coming in for a Cavlary competition and another horse group) and put in another 10 hours; on Friday it was 14 hours at work and trying to get ready for Emma's birthday party. Sat. morning I went to work at 5:30 a.m., watched the office until 8 then cleaned up after a party of 135 at the Buff Barracks, and set it back up for another 135 that night; ran to Chadron picked up the cake and presents, back to Greg's new house and had a birthday party, then back to work to help with the Cavlary Banquet. Sunday we were up early and out the door to finish moving Greg to his new house in the country. I then ran little miss Emma the 2 1/2 hours to Cody and then back where I promptly fell on the couch in sheer exhaustion. Somehwere in this time I need to fertilize my yard, pick all the final garden stuff and can it, make 16 stuffed pumpkins (gifts for friends and family), wash clothes, and sheets and work............AAGH! Oh yeah I forgot that I have 400+ photos to get ready for a showing from a wedding I did earlier this month plus I really, really want to do a fun thing and go to Becky's for a lesson on scrappin'. I need a vacation!! How does everyone else do it?

Cavalry Comes Back to the Fort
What a wonderful weekend and Honor we had at Fort Rob as the Cavalry returned to Camp Robinson. These men and women, most of whom are either back from or on their way to active duty spent 5 days competing in the 2009 Bivouac and National Cavalry competition.
Most of my pictures are from the Field Jumping competition or Mounted Saber. I wish that I had more time to spend watching them and hopefully they will be back in another 4 years.

Inspirations
I am always looking for new ways to decorate, especially when it comes to fall, my most favorite time of the year as many as you well know. Better Homes and Gardens is just one of the best places to gather ideas and inspiration. Here is an idea for all of you who don't want to spend a lot of money but would love to craft a little fall wreath.

This is just a photo of him getting ready on the field. Please click on the picture to the right to see more photos of Taylor in action. I apologize for the clarity of the photos, I was clear across the field but still caught some good action. Great job Taylor

APHA Ride
And we're off!
Riders start to space out as we travel the pasture on the way to the Buttes.
Suz and Loretta - two of the gals from Lincoln
Pranksters were everywhere so if you didn't want your horse to have pink "toe nails" you needed to keep a close watch.
I have had so much fun the past two days on the trail with the APHA riders and our Fort Rob crew. The first day I didn't take my camera :( MY BAD!!) It was beautiful on the wood reserve and I could have gotten some awesome pictures of horses jumping the creek. I was riding Trevor's horse Joe and he is such a good little horse that he would have stood still for me. Today I rode Pistol and I loved riding him, however Pistol wasn't so amicable about just stopping and taking pictures plus a lot of the trail was single file and to stop in the middle meant I was holding others up. It was so beautiful up in the buttes and you could see for ever! Thanks to my boss Mike for letting me go, using his horses and taking care of all that saddling stuff!

All FALL........all year!
Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fall. I love it so much I have made other sceptics into fall lovers. I even made fall haters into 'ok fall isn't so bad at all' kind of people. Just ask my friend Twila about that one. Anyway, I have decided why not embrace it, so here goes a kitchen makeover. I started with tulips, I loved those tulips but could never find embellisments to go with the tulip theme. I so thought tulips would eventually become 'in'. They didn't - not that they are out, just not a real popular theme such as roosters.
So here is a picture of my inspiration. I fell in love with these Pfaktzgraff plates that were on sale at Herbergers last year and have slowly been adding pieces to my collection. Then where to put them...with the tulip plates I inherited from my mom; the red snowflake plates my daughter bought me; the green and cream plates I bought to have for a fall wedding shower.... I know I will display them all over my kitchen.
So bye, bye tulips - come again sometime. And to all my friends, tune in the next couple of weeks and see the makeover, or stop by and have a hot cup of apple cider.
